Reasonable Grounds Disability Cases

Between FY 00 and FY08, 196 charges of disability discrimination were filed with the Human Rights Commission.  123 charges were investigated and of those cases, the Commission found no reasonable grounds to believe that discrimination occurred in 90 cases and reasonable grounds to believe that discrimination occurred in 33 cases (one of which is no longer vaild due to changes in the Americans with Disabilities Act enacted in 2008).  In addition, 73 cases settled through mediation or informal negotiation prior to the commencement of an investigation.
